Magnus and I broke into an empty house. Not sure if it was what we were looking for. I don't even know what to look for. My criteria has basically been: has three bedrooms, cat friendly.

you've probably got the right idea there actually you broke into a house? that's kind of cool it'd be cooler if Magnus weren't super prone to doing semi-legal things on a daily basis are we working on the premise that it'll just be us?

Magnus did the breaking in. I supervised.

[ as if anyone can supervise Magnus if their name isn't Alec and even then, that's iffy. Simon's just not about to let go of that kind of cool from her. ]

I was. Should we be going bigger? [ with Clary, Jace and Alec gone, he had just assumed they wouldn't be coming back. that they'd gotten what they wanted or that if it wasn't for them before, then the city wouldn't be a viable option in the future. ] Have extra rooms just because?

[ Isabelle's still hopeful that she'll see her brothers around one day. Maybe not today or next week or even next month, but eventually. But then again, she's not sure exactly how long she's planning on sticking around that she's planning for the long-term future.

Plus, we'll get a couch. There won't be any shortage of places for people to crash. We can hash out how many rooms we want now that we're all on board.

[ if anyone from home came back or showed up, he'd happily give them his bed for as long as it took. ]

No idea how we're going to afford it, but we'll figure something out.

It's one thing if Magnus volunteers to do something unsavory, but he's not our on demand law breaker. Especially with Alec gone. Maybe we can do this the old-fashioned way. I think he needs the company as much as we do, so I wouldn't want to push him away by asking.

And I know I'm not saying anything you don't know, I'm only saying I don't know the guy well enough to know how he'd take anything.

[ and asking Magnus to do something for them feels weird to him, like the Clave doesn't ask for enough from Downworlders. yeah, Simon thinks they're friends ( or that they could be ) but it's a fragile friendship. ]

we can always talk to him, pitch him on everything, and see how it goes from there?

[ Isabelle's got a bit more of a tight friendship with him; they hang out pretty often - probably because Alec's gone - but even so. Unsavoury things aren't the same thing as making fun of each other's clothes. ]

I wouldn't want him to think we were using him, you know? I invited him in on this and I meant it as no strings as that.

Sounds good to me. He's been doing this living thing longer than both of us, he probably has a lot more ideas.

Yeah, of course. As much as I'd love to run a halfway house, I'm not made of that kind of money. I think pitching in goes without saying.
